¡La IV Edición del MEP ha sido todo un éxito!
Por fin hemos podido volver al formato presencial que tanto deseábamos y durante los días 21, 22 y 23 de enero se ha celebrado la cuarta edición del Modelo de Parlamento Europeo.
Los alumnos de 1º de Bachillerato de 12 colegios de Andalucía, Canarias, Ceuta y Melilla, han debatido como verdaderos parlamentarios europeos. Un debate de referencia a nivel autonómico, nacional e internacional, en el que jóvenes estudiantes trabajan en comisiones, realizan debates, propuestas, enmienda y plenos, y buscan consensos sobre temas de interés, a imagen de los que se producen en el Parlamento Europeo.
El objetivo es fomentar en ellos la conciencia de ciudadanía europea y la cultura del discurso parlamentario constructivo para convertirse en verdaderos parlamentarios durante tres días.
Entre los temas que se han debatido figuran el nuevo orden geopolítico y la defensa de Europa, La inteligencia artificial, el empleo juvenil y la crisis de suministros y el comercio internacional. Las conclusiones de los debates serán elevadas al Parlamento Europeo.
Las jornadas abrieron con diferentes personalidades políticas que han querido formar parte de esta enriquecedora actividad, como la Delegada Territorial de Educación en Cádiz, Dª María Isabel Paredes, la Concejala de Educación de El Puerto de Santa María, Dª Lola Campos y D. Javier Bello, Teniente de Alcalde del Área de Presidencia y Relaciones Institucionales del Excmo. Ayuntamiento de El Puerto de Santa María. En la clausura, D. Antonio Segura Marrero, Director General de Tecnologías Avanzadas y Transformación Educativa de la Junta de Andalucía, quiso profundizar sobre los beneficios del debate y la importancia de los temas sobre los que se habían planteado las resoluciones, mientras que D. Carlos Rioja, Vicerrector de la Universidad de Cádiz, resaltó la importancia de estas jornadas para la Educación del futuro. La dirección del Centro con su Titular, David Randell, y Ágata Tutzó como representante de la Fundación, marcaron el broche final de las sesiones autonómicas de Andalucía, Canarias, Ceuta y Melilla.
Los alumnos han estado guiados en todo momento por antiguos MEP Alumni que ya participaron en ediciones anteriores. Presidentes, secretarios, consejeros, delegados, todos como verdaderos parlamentarios.
Estamos seguros de que estas jornadas en favor del pensamiento crítico, el consenso y la argumentación han sido muy enriquecedoras para todos los alumnos y centros participantes a los que esperamos en la fase nacional.

The 4th MEP Edition has been a total success!
At last, we have been able to return to the format we so much sought and during the 21st, 22nd and 23rd of January the fourth edition of the European Parliament Model was held.
The pupils of 1st year of Baccalaureate from 12 schools in Andalusia, the Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla, have debated as real European parliament members. A debate of reference at regional, national, and international level, where young pupils work in committees, hold debates, proposals, amendments, and plenary sessions, and seek consensus on issues of interest, in the image of those that take place in the European Parliament.
The aim is to foster in them an awareness of European citizenship and the culture of constructive parliamentary discourse in order to become true parliamentarians for three days.
Among the topics discussed were the new geopolitical order and the defence of Europe, artificial intelligence, youth employment and the supply crisis and international trade. The conclusions of the debates will be submitted to the European Parliament.
The conference opened with different political personalities who wanted to be part of this enriching activity, such as the Regional Delegate of Education in Cadiz, Ms. Maria Isabel Paredes, the Councillor of Education of El Puerto de Santa Maria, Ms. Lola Campos and Mr. Javier Bello, Deputy Mayor of the Area of Presidency, and Institutional Relations of the El Puerto de Santa Maria City Council. At the closing ceremony, Mr. Antonio Segura Marrero, General Director of Advanced Technologies and Educational Transformation of the Andalusian Regional Government, wanted to highlight the benefits of the debate and the importance of the issues on which the resolutions had been raised, while Mr. Carlos Rioja, Vice Chancellor of the University of Cadiz, highlighted the importance of these conferences for the Education of the future. The management of the Centre with its Principal, David Randell, and Ágata Tutzó as representative of the Foundation, marked the end of the regional sessions in Andalusia, the Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla.
The pupils were guided at all times by former MEP Alumni who took part in previous editions. Presidents, secretaries, councillors, delegates, all of them as real parliament members.
We are sure that these days in favour of critical thinking, consensus and argumentation have been very enriching for all the pupils and participating schools, and we look forward to seeing them at the national phase.
