Celia Hernández, María García, Sara Arcila y Ana Rodríguez . Estas son las cuatro alumnas de nuestro centro que van a participar en un concurso, organizado por la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad de Navarra, destinado a estudiantes que tengan la intención de desarrollar sus estudios universitarios en el área de la salud.
El concurso se llama Clinical Case Competition, premedical division y consiste en hacer un diagnóstico de una enfermedad asesorados por profesores médicos de la Universidad, que hacen de tutores. Tienen sesiones on-line, vídeo y si son seleccionados para la última base, también sesiones presenciales en la misma universidad.
Clinical Case Competition pretende que el alumno viva una experiencia universitaria médica previa. La clave estará en que consiga trabajar el material que le entregaremos con el equipo (de 3 a 4 personas) tratando de establecer un diagnóstico y tratamiento adecuado al paciente que tendrá en sus manos. Para ello, contarán con la ayuda de un tutor que servirá de guía durante las diferentes etapas y dos tutorías y en el colegio contarán con la ayuda del DO.
La primera tutoría se podrá presentar vía Skype en el mes de enero. Para la segunda tutoría tendrán que grabarse en vídeo realizando la presentación. Éste será evaluado por dos de los tutores clínicos propuestos y será el decisivo para llegar a la final. El concurso tendrá su jornada de cierre en la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad de Navarra. Ese día los equipos elegidos expondrán al resto de compañeros cómo han sido los razonamientos que han seguido y las conclusiones a las que han llegado.
Celia Hernández, María García, Sara Arcila and Ana Rodríguez. These are the four pupils from our School who are going to participate in a competition organised by the Navarra University Faculty of Medicine, destined to students who intend on pursuing their studies in the field of medicine.
The competition is called Clinical Case Competition, premedical division and it entails diagnosing an illness advised by the medical professors of that University, who act as tutors. They will have online sessions, videos and if selected for the final phase, also in-house sessions at the actual university.
Clinical Case Competition, aims for pupils to have a pre-university medical experience. The key lies in working with the material provided and the team (3 or 4 people) aiming to establish diagnosis and treatment adequate for patient at hand. In order to do so, they will have help from the tutor who will act as guide throughout the different stages as well as two tutorials, also with in School help from DO.
The first tutorial can be presented via Skype in January. They will have to record themselves on video presentation for the second tutorial. This video will be evaluated by two of the proposed clinical tutors and will be decisive in order to reach the final. The competition will hold the closing ceremony at the Navarra University Faculty of Medicine. On that day, the selected teams will present before their peers regarding the reasoning followed and the conclusions reached.
