Los alumnos de 1º y 2º de Bachillerato han recibido una charla divulgativa sobre la utilidad de las Matemáticas y su importancia en la Medicin, que ha versado sobre el proyecto RECAÍDA 0: Matemáticas contra la Leucemia Infantil.
Su objetivo es explotar la enorme cantidad de datos que se disponen en los hospitales para establecer nuevos biomarcadores, usando métodos matemáticos, que anticipen y eviten una recaída de esta enfermedad. Este proyecto ha nacido en la Universidad de Cádiz, el Hospital de Jerez y la Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha (MôLAB).
Este proyecto se encuentra ahora mismo en fase de recaudación de fondos a través de la página www.precipita.es, una plataforma impulsada por la Fundación Española para la Ciencia y la Tecnología (FECYT), del Ministerio de Economía, Industria y Competitividad, y que está especializada en promover la financiación colectiva de la ciencia. De esta forma, gracias al apoyo de la ciudadanía y entidades privadas, se pretende dar un nuevo impulso y una aceleración a la investigación.»
Lower and Upper Sixth Form pupils received a lecture today concerning the use of Mathematics and its importance in Medicine, regarding the project RELAPSE or: Mathematics against leukaemia in children.
Its objective is to make good use of the enormous amount of data at use in hospitals to establish new biomarkers, using mathematical methods to anticipate and avoid relapses in this illness. This project was born in the Cadiz University, in the Jerez Hospital and the Castilla-La Mancha University (MôLAB).
This project is currently in the funding phase through the page www.precipita.es, a platform supported by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT), from the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness, specialised in promoting collective financing of science. By doing so, thanks to private and public support, the aim is to provide a new boost and accelerate investigation”.
