World Book Day (and week) has been a fantastic opportunity to celebrate our love of books and reading at school. The younger students in Early Years have dressed up to commemorate some of their favourite stories, such as The Hungry Caterpillar, Goldilocks and the Three Bears or the Rainbow Fish. We have had story retells, bookmaking, singing and dancing, Show and Tell, crafts, bookmarks and all kind of activities to make this day memorable.
We know that children are in the crucial foundation years of their lives. Nurturing a love of reading in these early years is something that a child can build on for the rest of their days, creating a life-love long of learning.
