This week, as part of the Tomorrow’s People project I had the pleasure of speaking to our YR13 students about the power of AI as a tutor and how it can revolutionise the way they learn.
In the talk, we explored how AI can be used as a personalised tutor, helping students grasp difficult concepts, practice problem-solving, and even refine their writing. With AI students can receive instant feedback, explanations tailored to their needs, and help them through this critical period before their exams.
However, while AI offers amazing benefits, understanding how to use it wisely is key. I emphasised the importance of critical thinking, knowing how to evaluate AI-generated content, and using AI as a supportive tool rather than a shortcut. The future belongs to those who can harness AI effectively, and today’s students have an incredible opportunity to develop this skill early on.
The response from the students was fantastic! They were eager to learn more about how AI can assist them in their studies and beyond. By embracing AI, they’re not just preparing for exams—they’re preparing for the future.
