En el día de hoy, la Comisión de Responsabilidad Social junto a las alumnas de Year 4 del Social Responsibility Committee Nuria Rojas y Daniela Mota, han hecho entrega a la Fundación Mensajeros de la Paz de los 1.218,92€ recaudados en la pasada Carrera Solidaria. A la reunión han acudido D. Julio Millán, Presidente de la Fundación, acompañado de los Directores y técnicos D. Javier Millán y D. Juan Mota, así como la hermana Josefina, directora de un Orfanato en Machakos (Kenia) y una representación del Consejo de Dirección de El Centro Inglés. Los miembros de la Fundación -junto a la hermana- han expuesto la labor que realizan en Siria, Turquía y Kenia, lugares a los que irá destinado el dinero, intercambiando impresiones sobre la labor solidaria tan necesaria en nuestros tiempos y la importancia de motivar a las nuevas generaciones en la generosidad y la solidaridad. Se ha aprovechado la misma reunión para hacer entrega de los 150€ del concurso «Linda María Randell Community Award», cantidad económica ganada por las mismas alumnas, quienes escogieron también a Mensajeros de la Paz como ONG destinataria de ese premio que entrega el Centro.
Today, the Social Responsibility Committee together with the pupils of Year 4 of the Social Responsibility Committee Nuria Rojas and Daniela Mota, have handed over to the Mensajeros de la Paz Foundation, the 1.218,92€ raised in the last Solidarity Race. The meeting was attended by Mr. Julio Millán, President of the Foundation, accompanied by the Directors and technicians Mr. Javier Millán and Mr. Juan Mota, as well as Sister Josefina, director of an Orphanage in Machakos (Kenya) and a representation of The English Centre Board of Directors. The members of the Foundation, together with the Sister, explained the work they carry out in Syria, Turkey and Kenya, places where the money will go, exchanging impressions on the solidarity work so necessary in our time and the importance of motivating the new generations in generosity and solidarity. The same meeting was used as an opportunity to present the 150€ of the «Linda María Randell Community Award», an economic amount won by the pupils themselves, who also chose Mensajeros de la Paz as the NGO recipient of this prize given by the Centre.
