Un año más, el Departamento de Ciencias y los alumnos de 4º de ESO se embarcan en la preparación del Premio de Investigación de la Fundación San Patricio, con la ilusión puesta en los fantásticos resultados de los dos últimos años, en los que dos de nuestros alumnos, Jorge Barallobre y Cristina López, han representado a España en la fase Internacional de dicho certamen.
Este año la afluencia de alumnos para la participación en dicho programa ha sido abrumadora, más de 20 alumnos comenzaron a trabajar desde principios de curso en los cinco temas propuestos: domesticando microorganismos, imagen y biomedicina, misión tripulada a Marte, vehículo eléctrico o vehículo a hidrógeno, nanotecnología y ciudades inteligentes. Durante estos días estamos llevando a cabo la selección de los cinco alumnos que representarán a nuestro Centro en dicho certamen por lo que cada uno de ellos ha presentado ante sus compañeros sus investigaciones acerca del tema elegido. En los próximos días, el Departamento de Ciencias enviará a Madrid los cinco trabajos seleccionados.
Desde el Departamento se valora el alto nivel de los proyectos presentados, así como la involucración de dichos alumnos. ¡Enhorabuena a todos ellos por su maravilloso trabajo!
Once again, the Science Department and the Secondary year 4 pupils begin to prepare the San Patricio Foundation Investigation Prize, excited about the fantastic results obtained the previous years, where our pupils Jorge Barallobre and Cristina López have represented Spain in the International Phase of the aforementioned contest.
The number of pupils taking part this year has truly been overwhelming, over 20 pupils began to work on the five topics from the beginning of the school year; domesticating micro-organisms, image and biomedicine, manned mission to Mars, electric vehicle or hydrogen vehicle, nanotechnology and intelligent cities. We are currently making a selection to choose which five pupils are going to represent our School in the contest, so, they have been presenting their investigations on the different subjects before their peers, the Science Department will, over the next few days, sent the five chosen projects to Madrid.
The Department highlights the very high standards of the presented projects, as well as pupils’ involvement. Congratulations to all for the marvellous work!
