Como en años anteriores, a lo largo de toda la semana la Comisión de Responsabilidad Social ha organizado junto a los tutores diversas actividades relacionadas con el día de la Felicidad que la ONU celebra cada 20 de marzo.
Los tutores desde Stage 2 hasta Year 3 prepararon actividades divertidas en hora de tutoría para sus alumnos, siguiendo los valores señalados por el acrónimo «GREAT DREAM». Los alumnos de Year 4 y Sixth Form recibieron una charla muy interesante sobre dos experiencias diversas de felicidad. Una parte de la charla la impartió Dª Nuria García Martín Niño, presidenta de la ONG “Corazones Huérfanos” que colabora con orfanatos de Ucrania desde antes de la guerra. Por su parte, la alumna de Lower Six María Calderón Carpintero expuso su experiencia en la actividad solidaria “Rumbo al Sur” que realizó el pasado verano en la República Dominicana. Posteriormente los alumnos realizaron preguntas muy interesantes a ambas ponentes.
As in previous years, throughout the week the Social Responsibility Committee, together with the tutors, organised various activities related to the UN‘s Happiness Day, which is celebrated every 20th March.
Tutors from Stage 2 to Year 3 prepared fun activities in tutor time for their pupils, following the values outlined by the acronym «GREAT DREAM». The pupils in Year 4 and Sixth Form received a very interesting talk on two different experiences of happiness. Part of the talk was given by Ms. Nuria García Martín Niño, president of the NGO «Orphan Hearts» which has been working with orphanages in Ukraine since before the war. For her part, Lower Six pupil María Calderón Carpintero talked about her experience in the solidarity activity «Rumbo al Sur» which she carried out last summer in the Dominican Republic. Afterwards, pupils asked very interesting questions to both speakers.
