The students from Reception to Year 2 have been patiently waiting for the past two weeks for the grand reveal which has happened in the “Daffodils Playground” on Monday morning. They have been very excited to enjoy the new equipment first hand, which has been uniquely designed for their use.
Built right in the centre of the Daffodils playground, this new equipment has been designed by the Early Years Department. with the intention of uniting the Early Years and Juniors students in a common and very interactive play space.
We know that in this age group, our students are investigating the world both on their own, and as a group. It has been both a pleasure and a challenge to create new areas that encourage self-discovery through patience and confidence and also spaces that promote cooperation and teamwork.
It is already exciting to see how the students are using the equipment to build their imagination, problem-solving and physical skills while crawling, balancing, building and bending. We are also adding places to explore with water, sand and get involved in our own planting through the seasons. We can’t wait to see how this year develops!
