Un martes más acudimos al Hospital de Jerez para colaborar con la AECC. Sara, Blanca, Paula, Tomás, Carmen y Álvaro, fueron esta vez los alumnos afortunados, que pudieron convivir unas horas con dos personas totalmente anónimas que se encuentran hospitalizadas y que abrazaron con sonrisas.
Los voluntarios de la AECC siempre trabajando para que estos niños y niñas vivan su día a día de la mejor manera posible. Niños muy especiales como Kevin que terminó con el famoso slime «moco pringoso de colores» hasta en el pelo, o Manuel que consiguió ver fantasmas.
Una mañana de contacto con otra realidad, aquella que les ha tocado vivir a estos chicos y chicas. Estamos seguros que hemos aprendido unos de otros, hemos aprendido de Kevin y de Manuel, hemos aprendido de los voluntarios, hemos vivido con ellos un tiempo que a los chicos y chicas del voluntariado les ha parecido poco, ya que todos han manifestado que están deseando volver.
Agradecemos a la AECC la oportunidad de vivir con ellos un rato de sus vidas. Les agradecemos que cuenten con nosotros. Nuestros voluntarios están haciendo un gran trabajo.
Como responsable de este voluntariado me siento realmente feliz al ver la buena acogida que ha tenido en todos los cursos del Colegio. Alumnos y alumnas desde segundo de ESO hasta segundo de bachillerato están en una larguísima lista de espera para aportar su granito de arena a esta experiencia tan gratificante. Muchísimas gracias a todos ellos, a la AECC, a los chicos hospitalizados y a los padres de estos niños por dejarnos compartir con ellos una enorme sonrisa, aunque terminemos todos llenos del famoso «moco pringoso de colores».
Por último agradecer de corazón a la Dirección de nuestro Colegio el total apoyo recibido desde el primer momento que se le propuso llevar a cabo este voluntariado.
A morning’s contact with a different reality, that which these children have to live. We are sure we have learned from one another, we have learned from Kevin and from Manuel, from the volunteers, we have lived special moments with them, moments the volunteers don’t consider enough, as they have all expressed they are eager to return.
We would like to thank AECC for the opportunity to live this time of their lives. We are grateful they count on us. Our volunteers are doing a great job.
As the person responsible for this volunteer project I am truly happy to see how well it has been received in all the year groups throughout the School. Boys and girls from Secondary Year 2 to Upper Sixth Form are in a long waiting list, waiting to offer their help to such a gratifying experience. Thank you to all of them, to AECC, to the children hospitalised and to these children’s’ parents for allowing us to share a huge smile, even though we may all end up full of the famous” coloured sticky mucus”.
Lastly, we would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to the School Management for their support from the very first moment we proposed this volunteer project.
