PorEL Centro Inglés

Sep 30, 2024

Our VI Founder’s Day will live long in the memory.

There were more activiteis throughout he currciulum with lots of collaborations of older and younger pupils. There was also a special focus on pupil leadership this year with our Head Boy and Head Girl presenting part of the morning assembly where we heard from scholarship winners and committee leaders about all of the opportunities throughtout the school year.

In the morning the whole of the Junior and Senior school come together to connect with Mrs Randell’s vision and our founding principles. Mr and Mrs Randell present and assembly that includes our school hymn, winners of our Founder’s Day competitions to design a cake, mugs, poetry or to guess the year of our photo competition. At the end of the assembly we sign MRs Randell’s favourite, Do Re Mi.

For the rest of the day there are activities based on our founding principles, gettting to know our history and, this year, we combined our European Day of Languages activities with Founder’s Day as languages are such an important part of our mission. There were talks for our pupils from our guests, Mrs Seagar, D. Fernando, Seño Rocio and the de la Torre family.

In the afternoon there was a very personal and moving ceremony in the Secret Garden. Our special guests were joined by representatives from the town hall to recognise Mrs Randell’s contirbution to our town. Our Early Years pupils raised the English Centre flag and our prefect summed up perfectly the spirit of the day with their speeches.

To end a very special day there was a moment of celebration in Picadilly with Mrs Randell’s stutue and tea for all of our ECI Alumni Families who have their children in school.
