Hoy nos han visitado 16 profesores de diferentes colegios de toda Europa para conocer de primera mano nuestra manera de gestionar una ECO-Escuela.
Ms Smith y Mr Olías han recibido a los visitantes y han puesto en contexto la evolución de El Centro Inglés desde que comenzara la andadura del Aula de Sostenibilidad hace ya seis años hasta el día de hoy, en el que nuestro Centro se ha convertido en un referente nacional, haciendo hincapié en el importante rol de nuestro alumnado en esta evolución.
Posteriormente, Carlota Braza e Isabel Niño, vocal de sostenibilidad de ECI, han acompañado a nuestros visitantes en un tour centrado en mostrar algunas de nuestras actividades, iniciativas e instalaciones relacionadas con la reducción de la huella ecológica del Centro para, a continuación, liderar una presentación junto a Lola García, en la que han enumerado algunas de las más interesantes propuestas y actividades desarrolladas por nuestro centro en estos años.
Los asistentes, Mr. Galvin, Ms Smith y Mr. Olías han terminado la jornada en una mesa redonda improvisada, en la que se han compartido inquietudes y algunos consejos para que nuestros visitantes puedan poner en marcha iniciativas parecidas a la nuestra en sus centros.
Todos los asistentes han coincidido en la utilidad y aplicabilidad de la propuesta y han agradecido el tiempo, dedicación e ilusión que tanto alumnos como personal de El Centro Inglés ha mostrado durante la visita.
Este tipo de proyectos de colaboración con otros centros del entorno europeo, en especial en materia de Medio Ambiente, son ya y lo serán aún más, una magnífica oportunidad de crecimiento para el Centro y para sus alumnos en el que, estamos seguros, estaremos embarcados en breve…
Today we were visited by 16 teachers from different schools from all over Europe to learn first-hand about how we run an ECO-School.
Ms Smith and Mr Olías welcomed the visitors and put into context the evolution of The English Centre from the beginning of the ECO Student Committee six years ago to the present day, in which our School has become a national benchmark, emphasising the important role of our pupils in this evolution.
Afterwards, Carlota Braza and Isabel Niño, ECI’s sustainability spokespersons, accompanied our visitors on a tour focused on showing some of our activities, initiatives and facilities related to the reduction of the Centre’s ecological footprint, and then led a presentation together with Lola García, where they listed some of the most interesting proposals and activities developed by our centre over the years.
The attendees, Mr Galvin, Ms Smith, and Mr Olías ended the day in an improvised round table, where they shared their concerns and some advice so that our visitors could set up initiatives similar to ours in their schools.
All the participants agreed on the usefulness and applicability of the proposal and expressed their gratitude for the time, dedication and enthusiasm shown by both pupils and staff of The English Centre during the visit.
This type of collaboration projects with other schools in Europe, especially in the field of the Environment, are already and will be even more so, a magnificent opportunity for growth for the School and its pupils in which we are sure we will soon be embarking on…
