This afternoon we got our Eisteddfod festivities underway with our traditional opening ceremony. As always, we started with the Spanish and Welsh national anthem. Mrs Randell then opened with Eisteddfod with the help of some of our youngest pupils and gave a speech to welcome everyone and to celebrate our Welsh heritage. This year we also had a very special message from Ysgol Gymraeg y Gaiman all the way from Patagonia where there is a Welsh community in a Spanish speaking country. We look forward to developing our relationship with them in the future. After recognizing the school council’s work and announcing the LMR Competitions for this year we enjoyed our Head Boy Head Girl ceremony. The ceremony has poetry and a flower dance by Year 4 and a speech by Ivo and Cristina, our outgoing Head Boy and Head Girl. It was a fantastic event and great to have the whole school together in the Hall again.
