Our Croatian adventure is underway. After a long journey across 5 countries to get here we spent the first day in Verazdin in northern Croatia.
After formal introductions there were ice breaking activities and an urban trek around Verazdin. We had lunch in the student quarter of town and then went to the sports complex to do mindfulness and meditation followed by connection to nature, playing disc golf in the forest and by the river.
On the second day we met early at school with all our kit for our 3 day adventure. After a short bus ride we arrived at Trakoscan Castle. We spent some time looking around the castle and then completed our first 5km hike up to Ravna Gora that will be our base for the next few days. After a tasty and healthy Croatian lunch all students had to check in their mobile phones and we had mindfulness activities followed by a cooking contest to see who could make the best beans. In the evening the students socialised without their phones under a full moon.
