Our Carol Concert has been with us since the start of The English Centre. It has moved venue and changed in presentation but the spirit has always remained the same. Mrs Randell based our Carol Concert on the Christmas services that she attended in Oxford in her youth and we maintain the tradition of our Upper Sixth pupils, looking very elegant in their formal dress, reading the lessons from the bible in English. Our Year 1 pupils dress in costumes to represent what our older pupils are reading. We invite our ECI Alumni who are celebrating their 10th anniversary to read the 9th Lesson and our ECI Parent Choir to sing out last Carol. However the soul of the Carol Concert is our Stage 6 & 7 choir and hearing their beautiful voices in the acoustics of a church is a wonderful experience. It really is a very moving and uplifting moment in the year. Mrs Randell would be very proud of this year’s performance.
