School trips EY

May 13, 2025

Nursery students have taken their first annual school outing to the Chiclana Saltmarsh. What a great place to explore nature!: birdlife, plant life and the local farm of course, with its farm animals and vegetable plot. The students have been busy helping feed the animals, learn how to look after the crops like a real farmer and even make some bread. The day was topped off by a trip around on the tractor and cart to see the Saltmarsh.

It has been an intensive and exciting day, enjoyed to the max. by our teachers and Nursery students. We hope to go back again in years to come!

Reception students have just returned from a fantastic day in El Coto de la Isleta, a marvellous gift of nature right on our doorstep in El Puerto de Santa Maria. The students have participated in a special programme called “Bichos” where they have been getting to know the interesting world of insects. They have been learning how to respect these tiny creatures as important members of the ecosystem and value them as living things just like all other animals.

They have also had a chance to enjoy some fun activities like cooperative games, hunts and races with the monitors in the green spaces in El Coto as well as a special “Bug Theatre”.  What a great way to end the week.

Year 1 students have spent the day in the Chiclana Saltmarsh, a wonderful spot to learn about a unique ecosystem common in the Cadiz bay area. It was a great chance to learn how to spot birds, fish and other saltmarsh creatures by their special characteristics, understand why these animals have special adaptations and learn how to spot them with binoculars or document them in their country journal. They have also been given an opportunity to fish using traditional methods and end the day with a trip on the tractor and cart.  A truly memorable trip!
