Siete jóvenes científicos de 6º EPO, han acudido el jueves 14 de noviembre a la Universidad de Cádiz en representación de El Centro Inglés: María San Gil, Javier Díaz, Isabel Niño, Aurora Jiménez , Martina Mas, Daniela Fernández y Lola García, han defendido sus proyectos frente a un jurado de profesores universitarios, que han destacado en ellos su compromiso con la ciencia y sus vocaciones científicas. Han compartido toda la mañana con chicos y chicas de 4º de ESO y de bachillerato de otros centros educativos de la provincia. Estos siete científicos han aportado sus conocimientos sobre dos temas muy interesantes, uno de dichos proyectos denominado JANI versa sobre un estudio para la realización de un cohete que en un futuro pueda despegar desde nuestro Centro y el segundo denominado TUBERÍA AZUL, nos propone un ahorro importante en el agua de la ducha, mediante un circuito controlado por un termostato que evitaría la pérdida de agua mientras esperamos en la bañera que el agua esté a la temperatura deseada.. El jurado ha destacado la juventud de nuestros científicos en la entrega de premios. Es gratificante para el Departamento de Ciencias y para El Centro Inglés el poder comprobar cómo niños y niñas de esta edad son capaces de hacer estas propuestas innovadoras y de exponerlas ante un jurado de tanta entidad como es el del certamen TU PROYECTO CIENTÍFICO. Queremos agradecer sin duda su esfuerzo y su dedicación y agradecer su apoyo a los familiares que han podido acudir a la UCA para ver el trabajo de sus hijos.
Otros proyectos están en marcha desde dicho Departamento, el Foro Investiga, la cría y reproducción de microalgas, un estudio de contaminación en el área de la Bahía de Cádiz y estudio de la evolución de la composición química de los distintos tipos de uva que se dan en la zona y su transformación en vino, entre otros.
Seven young Primary year 6 Scientists attended the Cadiz University on the 14th of November representing The English Centre: María San Gil, Javier Díaz, Isabel Niño, Aurora Jiménez , Martina Mas, Daniela Fernández and Lola García, defended their projects before a jury of university teachers, who have mentioned pupils’ commitment with science and their scientific vocations. They spent the entire morning with Secondary year 4 and Sixth Form pupils from other schools of the province. These seven scientists shared their knowledge regarding two very interesting subjects, one of the projects called JANI addresses a study to build a rocket in the future that may be launched from our School and the second project called BLUE PIPE, offers important water saving during showers via a circuit controlled by a thermostat to avoid wasting water while we wait for the bath water to reach deal temperature… The jury pointed out our scientists young age during the awards ceremony. It is gratifying for the Science Department and for The English Centre to see how children this age are able defend these innovating proposals and present them before a jury of such high standard as is YOUR SCIENTIFIC PROJECT. We would like to no doubt thank them for their effort and their dedication as well as families who were able to attend UCA to see their children’s work.
Other projects are also running in this Department, the Investiga Forum, breeding and reproduction of micro-algae, a study of contamination in the area of the Cadiz Bay and a study of the evolution of the chemical composition of various types of grapes of the region and its transformation into wine, amongst others.
