Siguiendo con los actos del 50.° aniversario y del Proyecto de ampliación Looking to the Future, inauguramos las instalaciones acuáticas del Centro y contamos con una persona espectacular, Ellie Simmonds. Medallista paralímpica británica, todo un ejemplo de superación y deportividad que nos acompañó durante una semana. El acto estuvo arropado también por los prefects, profesores, miembros del Club de natación de Cádiz, el equipo directivo del Centro y, por supuesto, por la familia Randell al completo quienes ejercieron de anfitriones de Ellie Simmonds y su entrenador.
Ellie ha venido a entrenar en ECI y también usó las instalaciones del complejo deportivo Ciudad de Cádiz. Estuvo con nuestros alumnos a los que ofreció charlas y talleres. Ellos estaban ansiosos por conocerla y preguntarle sobre su experiencia, además pudieron contemplar sus medallas e incluso pudieron probárselas.
As part of the 50th anniversary and of the extension Project Looking to the Future, we now inaugurate the School swimming facilities, and to do so we count on the presence of a truly outstanding person, Ellie Simmonds. British Paralympic Medal winner. A true example of self-improvement and sport ethics who will remain with us during the entire week. Prefects, teachers, members of the Cadiz Swimming Club, the School Board of Directors and of course, the Randell family accompanied us during this event. The Randell family also hosted Ellie Simmonds and her coach.
Ellie came to train in ECI and will also make use of the Cadiz sporting facilities. Ellie will also meet with our pupils and will offer speeches and workshops regarding her experiences.
Pupils were eager to meet her and ask questions about her experience. They also had the chance to see her medals, they were even able to try them on.
