La tarde del pasado 3 de mayo, la biblioteca de nuestro centro reunió un nutrido grupo de personas de diferentes ámbitos con un único objetivo; constituir un comité que asesorará al Centro Inglés en materia de Medio Ambiente, y que colaborará con nuestro colegio en el diseño de estrategias y medidas para seguir trabajando en la reducción de la huella ecológica.
El comité se compone de una interesantísima combinación de representantes de todos los ámbitos de la comunidad de El Centro Inglés y de su entorno próximo: Cargos técnicos y políticos del Área de Medio Ambiente de nuestro Excmo. Ayuntamiento, padres con vocación y recorrido profesional ligado al Medio Ambiente, algún prestigioso responsable de proyectos relacionados con el Medio Ambiente y la participación, miembros del Consejo de Dirección y de la Comisión de Responsabilidad Social, la responsable de Calidad y Medio Ambiente de El Centro Inglés, la responsable de nuestra subcontrata de limpieza y comedor, directores de departamento y profesores de nuestro centro, algunos alumnos y el coordinador del Aula de Sostenibilidad…
Además, durante todo el acto pudimos contar con la presencia de Mr. Randel que, al igual que el Consejo de Dirección, ha mostrado un claro compromiso, interés y disponibilidad a cuantas demandas se han hecho en estos meses en materia de Medio Ambiente.
Finalmente, un total de 17 personas comprometidas celebraron la iniciativa y rubricaron su intención de formar parte activa y participativa de esta iniciativa integradora, que mira hacia un futuro ambientalmente sostenible en nuestro centro con ilusión y ganas de seguir haciendo muchas cosas.
Seguiremos informando de las acciones que, para la reducción de la huella ecológica del centro, emprenda el Aula de Sostenibilidad.
On the afternoon of the 3rd of May, a large group of people from various fields met in the School library for a sole purpose: to create a committee to advise The English Centre concerning Environmental matters and collaborate with our School in designing the strategies and measures to continue working on reducing its carbon print.
The committee is formed by a very interesting combination of representatives from all The English Centre sectors including its closest collaborators: Specialists and politicians from the Town Hall Environmental Studies area, parents with vocational and professional links to the Environment, prestigious responsible for Environmental projects as well as the participation of members of the Board of Directors and the Social Responsibility Commission, the person responsible for the The English Centre Quality and Environment department, the person responsible for our cleaning and catering outsource, Heads of departments and teachers from our School, some pupils and the coordinator of the Sustainability Class…
We also counted on the presence of Mr. Randell throughout the entire event, who, like the Board of Directors, has shown full commitment, interest and availability for all the request presented during these months regarding Environmental issues.
Finally, a total of 17 committed people celebrated the initiative and signed their intention in becoming active part and participating in this integrating initiative, looking to an environmentally sustainable the future in our School with enthusiasm and eager to continue doing lots of things.
We will continue informing of the actions launched by the Sustainability Class in order to reduce the School Carbon print.
