Esta tarde fue la ceremonia de apertura de Eisteddfod. Todo el colegio se reunió para celebrar este momento tan especial del año en El Centro Inglés. Por primera vez tuvimos un discurso dado por el presidente de nuestros ECI Alimni, Nico Lucero. Habló de cómo el deporte puede mantener a las comunidades unidas. Escuchamos conmovedoras versiones de los himnos español y galés y Mrs. Randell abrió la ceremonia con los peques de dos años vestidos con los trajes galeses tradicionales. La ceremonia se cerró con un poema y nuestra tradicional ceremonia de las flores para celebrar nuestros nuevos Head Boy y Head Girl, Pablo y Violeta. Finalmente nuestros Head Boy y Head Girl de 2016-17, Fernando y Julia, dieron un pequeño discurso sobre su tiempo representando a sus compañeros.
This afternoon was the Eisteddfod opening ceremony. The whole school gathered together to celebrate this very special time of year at The English Centre. For the first time we had a speech from the president of our ECI Alumni, Nico Lucero. He spoke about how sport can keep communities together. There were moving versions of the Spanish and Welsh national anthems on the recorder and Mrs Randell opened the ceremony with the 2 year olds in their Welsh costumes. The ceremony closed with a poem and our flower ceremony to celebrate our new Head Boy and Head Girl, Pablo and Violeta. Finally our 2016-17 Head Boy and Head Girl Fernando and Julia gave a short speech about their time representing their fellow pupils.
