Segundo día en Gales, primer día en el colegio, primer día en Cardiff…
¡Zafarrancho de combate a las 06:45! Una hora para desayunar, arreglar la habitación, vestir el uniforme y preparar la maleta con ropa para toda la jornada… No volveremos a casa hasta las 23:00…
Viaje en un minibus con las plazas justas, visita guiada al colegio por cortesía de Headboy & Headgirl y nuestros primeros periodos como alumnos de Olchfa. Formidable colegio: laboratorios magníficos, varios campos de césped natural, sitios de esparcimiento, varios Halls, zonas de trabajo, biblioteca, ¡UN TEATRO!… Los profes permanecen en sus aulas (totalmente personalizadas y acondicionadas para el área que imparten) y son los alumnos los que se desplazan en busca del aula y del profesor.
Mucho que aprender, mucho que mejorar… pero mucho que valorar sobre las cosas que hacemos bien en El Centro Inglés.
Comida en la cantina del colegio, foto corporativa del grupo junto a la entrada principal y Bus a Cardiff… Patinaje sobre hielo y paseo por la Bahía de Cardiff… el día ya estaba completo, pero necesitaba una cena, así es que los chicos se organizan y terminan TODOS JUNTOS (los 32) cenando en un restaurante Jamaicano… no suena muy británico, pero es lo que ha surgido.
Vuelta a las 23:00h, pequeña charla valorando y comentando sensaciones y a la cama… deberían estar muertos de sueño, se levantaron a las 06:45. Nadie parece querer irse a dormir… se ve que lo están viviendo con mucha intensidad.
¡Llega el fin de semana!
Buen fin de semana para nuestros alumnos de Intercambio. Dos días de convivencia familiar, de visitas culturales, gastronómicas, deportivas y de ocio para todos…
Cine, compras, fútbol, helados (los mejores de UK), restaurantes de diversos tipos, almuerzos y cenas típicamente británicas, castillos, parques, playas… y muchas emociones compartidas con nuestros compañeros galeses…
Mañana día largo e intenso con clases de diversos idiomas, presentaciones en público y espectáculos de sevillanas y trampolín.

Our second day in Wales, first of School, first in Cardiff…
Wake up call at 6.45am! One hour for breakfast, tidying up bedrooms, putting the uniforms on and getting our bag filled with clothes for the day… We won’t be back until 11.00 pm…
We travelled on a minibus with just enough spaced, had a guided visit through the School by the Headboy and Headgirl and had our first periods just as Olchfa pupils. Awesome school: wonderful labs, various grass playgrounds, relaxing spaces, several Halls, working areas, library, A THEATRE!… teachers stay in totally personalised classrooms and adapted to their subject, and pupils move from class to class.
There is a lot to learn, a lot to improve… but there is a lot of things we are good at in The English Centre.
We had lunch at the school dining room, comparative picture of our group at the main entrance and bus to Cardiff… Ice-skating and a walk along Cardiff’s Bay… the day was full, but we needed to have supper so kids all together (the 32 of them) organised themselves by having their meal at a Jamaican restaurant… doesn’t sound very British but it is what they felt like.
We returned at 11pm, a little talk about our feelings for the day and off to bed… they were exhausted for sure since they woke up at 6.45am but no one seemed to want to sleep… they are having a very exciting time.
Weekend at last!
Good weekend for our pupils in the exchange. Two days of family time, cultural, gastronomic, sports and leisure visits for all…
Cinema, shopping, football, ice-creams (the best in UK), various restaurants, British meals, castles, parks, beaches… and so many shared emotions with our Welsh friends…
Tomorrow will be a long and intense day filled with classes in different languages, public presentations and sevillanas dance and trampoleening.
