Last weekend, four of our fantastic Sixth Form students — Alberto, Blanca, Yaxin and Daniel — travelled to Sevilla to represent ECI at the European Youth Parliament Regional Session, held at Pablo de Olavide University.
Across three incredibly full days (Friday to Sunday), they threw themselves into every part of the experience:
🌟 Teambuilding with their committees
📚 Intensive committee work on Saturday — a marathon day of research, discussions, negotiations, and speech-writing
🎤 And the big finale on Sunday: the General Assembly, where they confidently defended their resolutions in front of all the delegates and teachers.
Topics debated included issues such as equal access to education, housing affordability, flood resilience, digital divides, and LGBTIQ+ rights — all real challenges facing Europe today. Our students rose to the occasion with maturity, teamwork and critical thinking. Beyond the academic side, they also spent their evenings getting to know students from schools all across Andalucía, forming new friendships and embracing the spirit of international collaboration that EYP is known for.
A huge well done to all four students for representing ECI so brilliantly! And thank you to Ms. Sutcliffe (and Dewi!), who accompanied them throughout the weekend. This was our first-ever ECI participation in EYP, and we hope it will be the first of many! 💙🌍
