El pasado jueves 7 de noviembre se reunió de nuevo y por vez primera en este curso el Comité Ambiental de El Centro Inglés.
Este órgano consultivo se constituyó hace ya dos años, y se reúne varias veces al año para trazar las líneas de trabajo en materia de Medio Ambiente, buscar y fomentar alianzas y colaboraciones que redunden en la mejora de la sostenibilidad del centro, y atender a las inquietudes ambientales de la comunidad de El Centro Inglés y de nuestra localidad.
En esta ocasión, mostrando una vez más el apoyo del consistorio hacia nuestro centro y hacia las iniciativas ambientales que desde él se desarrollan, tuvimos el honor de contar con la presencia de D. Millán Alegre, Concejal de Medio Ambiente y Playas y antiguo alumno de este centro. El concejal, una vez presentados los proyectos y objetivos para este curso, aprovechó la ocasión para felicitarnos por las iniciativas y mostrar la disponibilidad de la Concejalía de Medio Ambiente para atender nuevas propuestas que pudieran surgir o, incluso, pudieran dinamizarse en colaboración con el Excmo. Ayto. de El Puerto.
Además, se presentaron algunos nuevos componentes del comité, se aportaron algunas ideas muy interesantes para próximos proyectos y se le dio la alternativa a la nueva vocal de sostenibilidad, Dña. Coral Funes de la Vega, alumna de tercero de secundaria, que lideró la presentación de objetivos del Aula de Sostenibilidad ante los asistentes, mostrando una madurez y compromiso que promete un interesante futuro para el Aula.
The English Centre Environmental Committee met once again, and for the first time this academic year, last Thursday 7th of November.
This consultation organism was born two years ago and meets various times a year to establish the work paths regarding Environmental matters, search for and foment alliances and collaboration to aid improving School sustainability and attend to environmental concerns of The English Centre and out city.
On this occasion, once again receiving town hall support towards our school and towards the environmental initiatives developed in the School, we had the honour of counting on the presence of Mr. Millan Alegre, Environmental and Beaches Councillor and former pupil of our School. The councillor, once projects and objectives for this academic year had been presented, took the opportunity to congratulate us for our initiatives and express the Environmental Office’s availability to receive further proposals that may arise or even foment in collaboration with the El Puerto Town Hall.
New members of the committee were also introduced, very interesting new ideas for future projects and the new spokesperson for sustainability, Dña. Coral Funes de la Vega, Secondary year 3 pupil, shared the Sustainability Class presentation of objectives with everyone, displaying great maturity and commitment which proves to be an interesting future for the Class.
