Sustainable Mobility Competition

Jun 23, 2026

Earlier this year, a group of ECI students took part in the 5th Zinkers Sustainable Mobility Competition, organised by Fundación Repsol to promote sustainability and ecological awareness among young people, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to sustainable cities, responsible consumption and climate action.

Representing El Centro Inglés were Jorge Jiménez-Rider, Manuel García, Irene Arcila, Candela Navarro, Max Mangeon, Valeria Pérez and África Gómez. Working together, the students produced a Sustainable Mobility Manifesto and supporting materials, including videos and awareness resources, as part of a national competition with prizes of up to €15,000. Their proposal reflects a strong commitment to the SDGs by encouraging more sustainable transport habits and greater environmental responsibility.

Although ECI was not selected among this year’s winners, the students demonstrated excellent teamwork, creativity and commitment throughout the project. Their work embodied the values of innovation, collaboration and responsible global citizenship, closely aligned with the principles of the SDGs, and the school is extremely proud of the enthusiasm and dedication shown by everyone involved.

Congratulations to all the students for representing El Centro Inglés so positively and for embracing the challenge with such maturity and creativity.

The Technology and Science departments are delighted to see students engaging with real-world challenges and contributing to global sustainability goals, while developing the skills needed to become the innovators and responsible citizens of tomorrow.
