Year 6 Students Strengthen Their Digital Safety Skills
This week, our Year 6 students took part in an engaging digital citizenship and online safety workshops led by ICT Coordinator Mr Ashaolu. The session focused on helping pupils develop safe and responsible habits when using their school iPads and navigating online platforms.
Students explored the importance of recognising age‑appropriate content, protecting personal information, and making sensible decisions when faced with unexpected or worrying material online. They also learned our key safety strategy — STOP – CLOSE – TELL — a simple rule encouraging them to stop using their device, close anything that feels unsafe, and immediately tell a trusted adult.
To extend their learning, pupils completed Google’s interactive Interland – Reality River activity, where they practised identifying safe behaviours and responding to online risks in realistic scenarios.
The workshop supports our school’s commitment to digital wellbeing, ensuring students build the confidence and awareness needed to use technology safely and responsibly.s.
