Inspiring Young Minds Through Student‑Led AI Learning at Our School

Feb 12, 2026

This week, our Year 13c TIC students launched the first stage of their CreateAI Applied Computing & Collaboration Project, putting their creativity and digital skills into action with our younger learners in Primary and Early Years.

The pupils introduced the AI Storytelling Friend, an activity they programmed using Python on the micro:bit to animate emotions, display visual cues, and support an interactive storytelling experience. Working in small groups, they adapted their communication for younger children, ensuring the session was age‑appropriate, safe, and engaging — all while demonstrating meaningful computational thinking, hardware use, and responsible digital practice.

Over the coming sessions, the pupils will continue developing and delivering the remaining micro:bit activities in their project, including:
🔹 AI Exercise Timer, designed to support movement, rhythm, and turn‑taking.
🔹 AI Activity Manager, a visual classroom tool to help younger pupils navigate transitions like drawing, tidy‑up, and calm activities.

The younger pupils thoroughly enjoyed the first instalment of the project, and our Bachillerato students gained valuable real‑world experience by applying their coding knowledge to teach, support, and inspire others.

A huge well done to all the students involved in making technology meaningful, fun, and accessible for our early learners. 💡🤖
